Devlog 2 : BIG SWORD


With our game concept set out, we began full production. This week the core of the game's controls were completed. The player controls were coded to use unity’s built in character controller, we had originally planned to use rigidbody movement but it proved to be inconsistent with our style of movement. Additionally the player movement and combat systems were planned out, firstly the movement script manages the player locomotion and stamina economy. Secondly the player combat system will manage player attacks once they are implemented, but for now it manages the players health. 

Lastly the player model and animation rig were set up in unity. The players comically large sword then gave the project its new code name of “Big Sword”, as up until this point it was only referred to as the game tools assignment and that was not nearly as fun as “Big Sword”.
